Permaculture Place hosting concert

SHELBURNE FALLS — The Permaculture Place at 49 Conway St. will host an outdoor concert with the band Appalachian Still on Wednesday, Aug. 3, at 6:30 p.m.

Ticket prices are $15 to $20, sliding scale. Guests are invited to bring camping chairs and picnics.

Vaccine clinic set for Thursday

BUCKLAND — Mohawk Trail Regional School will host a COVID-19 vaccine clinic on Thursday, Aug. 4, from 4 to 7 p.m. Residents can get both initial shots or boosters.

Library book sale set for Saturday

BUCKLAND — The Buckland Public Library is holding a book sale on Saturday, Aug. 6, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Books for children and adults are available for purchase. Donations are accepted.

Vote by mail applications being sent

SHELBURNE — Town Clerk Joe Judd reports the mailing of vote by mail applications has begun, with some Shelburne voters already having received them.

These applications can be completed and returned to the Town Clerk’s Office for processing. A vote by mail ballot for the Sept. 6 state primary election will be mailed to all voters who request one. Later, voters can also receive a vote by mail ballot for the Nov. 8 general election.

Special Town Meeting to consider boiler funding

CHARLEMONT — A Special Town Meeting is set for Tuesday, Aug. 9, at 6 p.m. at the Charlemont Fairgrounds to discuss borrowing up to $52,693 to replace the two oil-fired boilers at Hawlemont Regional School.

Charlemont will pay 79% of the total replacement cost, per Hawlemont’s regional agreement. Hawley has already approved paying for its share.

Voters are advised to bring lawn chairs; otherwise, picnic tables will be available.

‘Magic for Seniors’ set for Aug. 10

SHELBURNE FALLS — Ed the Wizard’s “Magic for Seniors” event featuring mind reading and card tricks will be offered at the Senior Center, located at 7 Main St., on Wednesday, Aug. 10, at 1 p.m.

This program is supported in part by a grant from the Shelburne Cultural Council. Advance registration is required by calling the Senior Center at 413-625-2502.

Mohawk Trail Woodlands Partnership seeking feedback

The Mohawk Trail Woodlands Partnership is seeking feedback from the public on its draft 10-year plan in two virtual listening sessions on Wednesday, Aug. 24, at 4 p.m. and Wednesday, Sept. 14, at 7 p.m. The plan can be viewed at bit.ly/3Q2wJ54.

Early voting to start Aug. 27

SHELBURNE — Early voting for the Sept. 6 state primary will begin on Saturday, Aug. 27, at Shelburne Town Hall, located at 51 Bridge St.

Polls will be open from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Aug. 27; 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 29; 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Tuesday, Aug. 30; and 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 1.
