GREENFIELD — Energy Park on Miles Street was closed for the night Thursday due to “heavy police involvement,” according to acting Police Chief William Gordon.
Gordon said he cannot release any details at this time because an incident is “under an active investigation” at the park. The park was closed at around 4 p.m.
“I can’t tell you exactly what we have,” Gordon said when reached by phone at 6:20 p.m., citing the presence of several officers in the area.
The Coop Concert series, which has performances at Energy Park every Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m., was canceled for the evening. The Frost Heaves and Hales, Pat & Tex with Avery & White, and Gail Hegeman and Friends were set to perform, according to the Coop Concerts website.
“Whatever event there was tonight got canceled due to police involvement,” Gordon said.
