Another year, another title for Andy Lesenski.

Lesenski claimed a third straight Country Club of Greenfield men’s club championship on Sunday, besting the field across 54 holes with an 8-under-par total of 208.

Jason Kelton was the runner up at 3-under 213, followed by Dave Kennedy in third place (216). Rounding out the top 10 in the championship flight were Chris Bourbeau (fourth, 220), Clint McCloud (fifth, 226), Nate Burdick (sixth, 228), Scott Cote (seventh, 231), Jake Willis (seventh, 231), Michael Duclos Jr. (ninth, 235) and Will Conant (10th, 236).

Raye Young won a three-hole playoff to capture the women’s club championship on Sunday, edging Diane Carme after both players posted two-round totals of 169.

Tina Browne had the low net of the weekend (144), followed by Barb Killeen (145) and Sue Welenc (145). 

The President’s Cup winner was John Varner with a 145, followed by Ben Westerman (148) and Patrick Varner (152), Norman Morris (158) and Dave Perlmutter (158).

Richard Tozloski took the Vice President’s Cup title with a 141. Brian Luippold and Rich Young tied for second at 144.

Pitoniak stays red-hot

For the second time in as many weeks, Matt Pitoniak recorded a hole-in-one on Sunday.

Pitoniak aced the 11th hole at the Country Club of Greenfield, just two weeks removed from also notching a hole-in-one at CCG. He used a 5-wood from 175 yards out to accomplish the feat, the fourth of his golfing career, which was witnessed by Norm Morris and Jeff Blomstedt.

Art Dufresne Tournament

The team of Wayne Clark, Nick Johnston, Gary Hicks and Jacob Clark shot 54 to earn first place in the annual Art Dufresne Tournament on Saturday at the Ashfield Community Golf Course.

Second place with a 56 was the quartet of Dave Cote, Ryan Pease, Tom Poissant and Craig Sessions, while the team of Bev Williams, Bob Jillson, Norma LaBelle and Will Guyette took third place (59).

Hicks had the men’s longest drive on No. 4 while Labelle had the women’s longest drive. Closest to the pin winners were Brendan Clark (No. 5) and Hicks (No. 9).

Post 81 sweeps weekend set

A pair of dominant weekend efforts kept the Greenfield Post 81 Senior Legion team rolling into the final week of the regular season.

Post 81 thumped Longmeadow, 11-1, on Sunday, and also took down Aldenville, 13-3, in a Saturday evening affair. 

Tyler Baranowski struck out eight in four innings of work to earn the victory against Longmeadow, while Ben Martino and Dylan Martin closed things out in relief.

Cam Lococo smacked a two-run double in the win, while Michael Bassett, Kyle Barnes, Kevin Baumann, Tyler Dubreuil and David Carey all had two hits. Jake Sak added a double.

On Saturday, Carey tossed 5 1/3 innings with nine strikeouts, and also had two hits and two RBIs at the dish in the victory over Aldenville.

Bassett paced the offensive effort with three hits and four RBIs. Barnes (RBI single), Lococo (double) and MJ Paulin (hit) were other contributors.

Next up for Post 81 (10-2) is a trip to Chicopee and a rematch with Aldenville on Monday night before a home game against first-place Belchertown on Wednesday.

Teddy Bear Pools wins

Torsten Sloan Anderson struck out seven in six innings of work, and Bryan Baumann paced the offense with three hits as Teddy Bear Pools earned a 7-4 win over DiFranco Realty in a Tri-County League baseball game on Saturday at Herlihy Field in Whately.

 Sloan Anderson got the win, allowing four runs on seven hits, while Andrew Sadowski came on and pitched a scoreless seventh with a pair of strikeouts to earn the save.

Baumann scored a run in the victory, and Sadowski added a hit and also scored a run for the Poolmen, which improved to 5-8 on the season.
