Advocates of gun ownership use the argument that if we have guns we can defend ourselves and prevent gun deaths if threatened by someone with a gun. In the Uvalde, Texas school shooting there were more than a dozen police officers armed to the teeth who did nothing to prevent the gunning down of 19 children and 2 teachers. Obviously more guns is not the answer to preventing gun violence.
