GREENFIELD — After two years on Main Street, Nima’s Nails has moved its operations to the Arch Street Salon.

“I just needed a smaller space,” said owner Purnima “Nima” Dodge. “Originally, I had planned to hire people (on Main Street), but because of the pandemic it was really hard to find people, so I decided to have a smaller space.”

Dodge explained she is renting a booth from the beauty salon on Arch Street, where she has been since mid-March.

“I’m still working for myself, under my own business,” she clarified. “I just rent space there.”

Nima’s Nails originally opened in Greenfield in July 2020 at 365 Main St., where Imaginary Bookshop is planning to open later this month. At the time, the Greenfield resident was excited to bring her talents closer to home after 10 years of commuting to Amherst for work.

“It’s a little different, because I’m already established,” she said of the move from one location to the next. “I’m doing a lot better than when I first started. When I first started, I was trying to make my own client (list). … I did well. I was very lucky during that time to build up clients so fast.”

Dodge said the parking available to her and her clients at the Arch Street Salon is a bonus, compared to the location on Main Street.

“I love the location,” she said. “As you know, Main Street is hard to find parking … so it’s very nice for my clients to park right there and come in.”

The salon is open by appointment only from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Friday. Appointments can be made by calling 413-824-2055.
