I was happy to read (Beacon Hill Roll Call, April 1) that the state Senate voted to divest the state pension fund from Russian investments. It will happen smoothly and quickly. But for years we were told that divesting the pension fund from fossil fuels was unrealistic, irresponsible or too complicated. Now we see how easily it could be done. Both Russia and fossil fuels are killers. State workers’ pensions should not be invested in a way that rewards either.
