SOUTH DEERFIELD — Community Involved in Sustaining Agriculture (CISA) is partnering with area farms and organizations to sell holiday gift bags with locally grown and produced food.
The bags feature art by Easthampton-based artist Arielle Jessop and have a wide variety of local products ranging from chocolate to soap.
Bags will be available for pickup at multiple locations on Saturday, Dec. 11 — though inclement weather could postpone this until Dec. 18 — or they can be picked up at the CISA office at 1 Sugarloaf St. until supplies run out.
“Sharing food is such a meaningful way to connect with loved ones, and local food is a valuable way to connect with our larger community of farmers and artisans,” said CISA Executive Director Philip Korman. “We put together this gift bag as a way of sharing the local harvest with our community, from a distance. Sales benefit the producers we’re sourcing from, proceeds will benefit CISA, and the bags make great gifts — to friends and family, colleagues and neighbors, or even yourself.”
Two different bags with different products are available. Small ones are $75 and large ones are $125.
The small bags include chocolate, Richardson’s Candy Kitchen; dried shiitake mushrooms, Prospect Meadow Farm; lip balm, Sweet Birch Herbals; wild blueberry syrup, The Benson Place; salsa, Kitchen Garden Farm; maple syrup, Paul’s Sugarhouse; and barbecue Sauce from Jay’s Wicked, all in a tote bag featuring the new design.
Large bags include liquid goat hand soap, Sage Meadow Farm; honey squeeze bear, Maggie’s Apiary; jam, Mother’s Inc; maple syrup, Graves Glen Farm; tomato puree, Red Fire Farm; barbecue sauce, Apex Orchards; chocolate, Richardson’s Candy Kitchen; lip balm, Sweet Birch Herbals; dish towel, Nuthatch and Bluet; apple cider vinegar, Carr’s Ciderhouse; maple popcorn, Pioneer Valley Popcorn; seed packet, Ox and Robin; beeswax tea light candle, Red Barn Honey; and ginger syrup, Old Friends Farm, all in a tote bag featuring the new design.
