LEYDEN — The inaugural Hills Are Alive in Leyden Craft and Vendor Fair is still accepting participants.
The craft and vendor fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 9, and Sunday, Oct. 10, at Leyden Town Hall and common area at 16 West Leyden Road. The weekend event is a fundraiser for the Leyden United Methodist Church.
Those interested in participating can contact organizer Nannette Rolstad at 413-768-0775, or Emily Herron-Clark at 413-336-6248 or em_el_issa@yahoo.com. Vendors are asked to sign up for one or both days of the festival before Thursday, Sept. 30. There is a vendor fee of $20 that will be collected the day of the event.
“We are putting this on and hoping to get some revenue for the church, because it has been struggling for so long,” Herron-Clark said. “We only recently opened back up in the last few months, and we hope to fund continued upkeep of the church.”
In addition to manning a booth, each vendor is asked to donate an item to the fair’s raffle. All proceeds from the raffle will also support the church.
Meanwhile, food and drinks will be available at the town tractor pulls offered at Avery Field. Herron-Clark said residents in the past have suggested a craft fair be held in conjunction with the annual tractor pulls.
