GTA doubles tourney
The Greenfield Tennis Association (GTA) will sponsor a fundraising, special day of doubles tennis on Saturday.
All proceeds will go toward the continued maintenance of the clay courts in Greenfield. Men, women, juniors and seniors of all levels are welcome to play in this fun, single-day event. You will enter as a single person; your doubles partner will be selected randomly and will change throughout the event with each round. The event will take place on the very clay courts the GTA is striving to preserve for the community – Beacon Field and Highland Park.
Arrive anytime before 9 a.m. at Beacon Field courts for warmup and registration (no pre-registration for this event). Team and court assignments will start at 9:15, and play will start by 9:30. Please bring a new can of balls with you. The tournament will be completed by late morning.
If you can not commit to the full event, that is not a problem. Players can join for a couple rounds if you’d like, and leave when you need to go.
Entry fees are $5 for GTA members, $10 for non-members. GTA memberships for 2021 will be on sale at the time of registration. For more information, call Larry Klein 824-8129. Rain postponement will be announced by 8 a.m. on tournament day via email.
