In the great symphony of life, you are an essential part. Do you know this? Can you feel this? The web of life would not be complete without you, for you are a Divine creation, uniquely and intentionally created to be you.
We live in a time when many do not feel the holy significance of their lives. They think “smaller” than they actually are. They do not think about what is possible, what exists as a potential reality, but only about what has been and what has been accomplished. Hope for the possible has become covered over by disillusionment, disappointment and the practical needs of everyday life. Such needs can prevent one not only from realizing one’s hopes and dreams, but even from experiencing them at all.
Nevertheless, the impulse to live truly as oneself is expanding now. The soul is exercising its influence on the everyday self more fully, calling it to become more than it is. Every life, no matter its limitations, is responding to this deep impulse of hope. Whether it is hope for a loving partner, for children, for a world at peace, for greater equality, for a sense of belonging, for less anxiety, for greater enlightenment, hope pervades the human heart and resides there as a permanent part of the inner being. This hope is growing, even in the presence of that which would diminish or defeat it.
Accomplishment is not who you are. It is what you “do.” Who you are is your essence. This essence contains all the divine qualities that exist within you — love, peace, joy and reverence. These divine qualities belong to all who inhabit the Earth, and they exist within you as well, waiting to be expressed, longing to be expressed. No matter what challenges you have had to face in life, these qualities remain present.
Your true purpose on the Earth is to be who you most truly are, to sing your “note” to the fullest extent possible. This is the message of all the great spiritual traditions of the world, and its value can never diminish because it is eternally true.
At a time when many in the world are continuing to suffer and continuing to struggle in order to survive, those who have hope and the possibility of realizing the freedom they are here to express must help to uplift the others. Such freedom is also a great responsibility, based on the recognition that one cannot be truly free unless all are free, since all are one.
The Earth needs you to do this today, to unwind all the chains of belief that have bound you to a “smaller” self, and to recognize the deeper self within you. Life is calling you to do this, to value your precious existence, to treat it with respect, to honor your body, mind, heart and spirit. When you can do this for yourself, you will be able to do this for others. You will be able to uplift the world and to help it heal. You will be able to help the Earth that is suffering with a lack of reverence that, for the most part, has been the human legacy. However, the first healing begins at home. It begins with you. It begins with respect for your own existence.
Today, you are being invited to sing your own “note” in the choir of all souls upon the Earth. For Christianity, this is the message of Easter and it is the message of the Resurrection. For those who come from other traditions, this is the message of the light of the soul, bursting forth now within human consciousness. This light shows the way for each one to become free to be themselves. Such is the gift of your own precious life, and the willingness to receive it will be of benefit to the entire planet.
