In a Feb. 1 Recorder op-ed entitled “Conservative voices,” Steve Earp challenged “anyone to present one single example of a “conservative voice” that has been banned from Facebook, Twitter, or YouTube — or any similar social or traditional media outlet — for stating “conservative political values.” Well, here you go Steve:
Mike Lindell, the “My Pillow” CEO who advertises pillows, sheets, and blankets primarily on the FOX News Network, had his Twitter account recently suspended. Why? As a Trump supporter he had the “nerve” to question the fraud that occurred during the 2020 presidential election. Not only was his Twitter account suspended, corporations like Kohl’s and Bed, Bath, and Beyond decided to no longer sell his products.
Then there are several Fox News journalists like Sean Hannity, Tucker Carlson, Marc Levin and conservative Fox News guests like Dan Bongino, who either had their Tweets removed or accounts temporarily suspended. They all decided to quit Twitter and go to a new social platform called “Parler.” However, that was until Tim Cook (Apple CEO), Jack Dorsey (Twitter CEO), Mike Zuckerberg (Facebook CEO), Jeff Bezos (Amazon CEO), and Sundar Pichai (Google CEO) all conspired to have “Parler” removed as a viable competing social platform. Apparently, these CEOs wanted to censure conservative discussion they had no control over. Their bias against Republican conservatives is evidenced by their 2020 campaign contributions:
■Google: $4.3M for the Democrats, $106,000 for the Republicans;
■Amazon: $2.4M for the Democrats, $260,000 for the Republicans;
■Apple: $1.7M for the Democrats, $98,000 for the Republicans;
■Facebook: $1.6M for the Democrats, $41,000 for the Republicans.
Finally, we have the New York Post newspaper who had its Twitter account shut down for 16 days. Why? It published information that was unfavorable to Hunter and Joe Biden. The Post revealed an email to Hunter Biden from an adviser to the Ukrainian Burisma Oil & Gas Board of Directors thanking him for the “opportunity” to meet his father. At the time, Hunter Biden served on the Burisma board (even though he had no oil and gas experience) and his father was Obama’s vice president. Joe Biden had previously said he never discussed his son’s overseas dealings with Hunter. Obviously, Joe was lying.
The Post revealed other emails that described Hunter Biden’s effort to use his father’s influence to develop business relationships in China. Hunter pursued lucrative deals involving China’s largest private energy company, including one that he said would be “interesting for me and my family.”
When news of the New York Post story started to spread like wild fire on Twitter, CEO Jack Dorsey had the New York Post’s Twitter account shut down saying the information hadn’t been fact-checked. He was supported in this decision by 50 former intelligence officials and other high-profile Democrats who claimed Hunter’s laptop had been hacked by the Russians and these emails were nothing more than Russian disinformation. Needless to say, their Russian disinformation claim was a hoax as the Post was able to verify the emails they obtained were 100% from Hunter’s laptop.
