NORTHFIELD — A motorcyclist was transported to Baystate Franklin Medical Center on Friday evening with non-life-threatening injuries he sustained in a crash on Main Street.

According to a post on the Northfield Police Department’s Facebook page, the accident happened at around 5:50 p.m.

“A single occupant motorcycle was traveling north on Main Street when it slowed down in the roadway, attempting to make a right turn,” the post reads. “The motorcycle was rear-ended by a sedan.”

The post states the driver and passenger of the sedan were uninjured. The man on the motorcycle, however, was transported to Baystate Franklin in Greenfield with non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash is under investigation by the Northfield Police Department.
