Special hours, rates at Green River swimming area

GREENFIELD — The Green River Swimming and Recreation Area will have special hours and rates on July 3 and 4.

According to a press release from the Greenfield Recreation Department, the park will be open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. both days.

The holiday rates for Greenfield residents are $5 per person or $15 for a carload of up to seven people. Non-resident rates are $10 per person or $30 per carload. Season passes are also accepted. Pets are not allowed.

All park users must abide by the park’s COVID-19 guidelines including staying home if you are sick, wearing face masks or coverings when you are unable to practice social distancing, and 12-foot social distancing in the beachfront area. According to the release, Recreation Department staff members will assist with the traffic flow and use of public restrooms. As a reminder, showers are not available for use per state guidelines.

At any time during the day, at the discretion of Recreation Director Christy Moore in consultation with public safety officials and the Health Department, the park will not allow further entry of additional patrons. The release states the determination will be made based on observations of park conditions, including compliance with social distancing, face covering rules and gathering limits, as well as parking availability and traffic or safety concerns.

“We encourage all park patrons to arrive with supplies necessary for their day to limit traffic congestion,” the release reads.
