DEERFIELD — Three Deerfield Academy students have been recruited to some of the country’s most prestigious music conservatories.

According to a Deerfield Academy press release, Sunderland resident Arayana Carr-Mal plans to join the violin performance program at the Cleveland Institute of Music, Amherst resident Helen Feng plans to join the music composition program at the Bienen School of Music at Northwestern University, and Meriel Bizri of Falcon Heights, Minn. plans to join the violin performance program at The Juilliard School.

“The success of these remarkable young artists is the result of years of incredibly hard work and a deep passion for musical expression,” said Deerfield Academy Orchestra Director Thomas Bergeron. “They are devoted to constant improvement and believe that they have something valuable to contribute to the world through music.”
