WHATELY — Write-candidates won two races at the annual election on Tuesday.

With 53 write-in votes, Maureen Nichols was re-elected to a three-year term on the Whately School Committee. Melanie Chorak was elected to a three-year term on the Board of Assessors with 20 write-in votes.

Selectboard member Joyce Palmer-Fortune was re-elected, earning 180 of the total 208 votes.

This year’s election saw a total of 173 early and absentee ballots, and 35 in-person voters, according to Town Clerk Lynn Sibley. That’s out of 1,208 registered voters in Whately.

The other candidates who were elected are:

■Moderator — Nathanael Fortune

■Library trustee, three-year terms — Sheila M. Powers and Cynthia W. Allen

■Library trustee, two-year term — Megan West

■Cemetery commissioner — Ryan Brown

■Board of Health — Rebecca Jones

■Water commissioner — Georgeann Dufault

■Elector Under Oliver Smith Will — Adelia Bardwell
