Dana McRae got the Northfield Summer Road Race Series off to a hot start this week.
McRae posted the fastest time as the 3.3-mile race held its first virtual run of the season, with results coming in between May 28 and June 3.
His time of 19 minutes, 49 seconds was more than two minutes faster than the rest of the entrants, as most ran the actual course in Northfield during the opening week of action.
Noah de Ruiter was next with a time of 22:01, just ahead of Mark Rabasco’s third-place showing in 22:05. Rounding out the top five finishers were Bob Bezio (23:31) and Liam Walker (24:25).
Other top 10 showings include Dave Thomas (6th, 24:37), Neal Gifford (7th, 25:50), Cassandra Bigelow (8th, 26:00), Ellis Boettger (9th, 26:05) and Lucy Koester (10th, 27:50).
Runners had the option of competing on the normal course, or mapping out an equal-distance run of their own. The rest of the field included Chuck Adams (28:20), Sarah Kaczenski (29:03), Carly Skorupa (29:34), Nick de Ruiter (30:12), Cathy Coutu (36:14), Bob Emberley (36:32), Mary Buckley (39:55) and Cindy Dickerman (43:04).
Thomas Memorial Ladies League
Karren Sacco’s plus-11 point quota topped the field in Wednesday’s Thomas Memorial Golf & Country Club Ladies League.
Dorothy Adams was next at plus-8, followed by Jane Smith with a plus-7 and Robin Hartnett with a plus-6.
Guess the correct score winners were Karen Hopkins and Nancy Browning.
