GREENFIELD — The city is seeking public input regarding its effort to apply for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding to help small businesses recover from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.
With applications due to the state on June 5 and a requirement to seek public input, Greenfield is holding two virtual public hearings — one on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. and a second on Friday at noon.
According a press release from the Community & Economic Development Department, Greenfield has invited the Selectboards of each of the other 25 towns in Franklin County to join the regional effort. Several have expressed interest in participating.
The CDBG funding can assist micro-enterprises (businesses with five or fewer employees) by providing up to $10,000 to cover business expenses. Interested businesses and individuals are invited to review the draft program design and eligibility details on Greenfield’s website at greenfield-ma.gov/cedd.
Information on this week’s virtual public hearings can be found on the city’s calendar, and comments are welcome even if you cannot attend the hearings. For more information, contact Greenfield Community & Economic Development Director MJ Adams at mj.adams@
