SPRINGFIELD — In response to the COVID-19 crisis, Behavioral Health Network (BHN) has introduced an innovative new program called BHNTeleCare that will allow individuals to continue counseling sessions with their therapists from the comfort and safety of their own homes.
To respond to the need for social distancing as well as the increase in stress and behavioral health challenges, BHN is transitioning service at its 10 counseling and outpatient clinics to remote therapy, providing services via virtual sessions, seven days a week. Headquartered in Springfield, BHN includes the Northern Hope Center and Franklin Recovery Center on Federal Street in Greenfield.
For those without access to phone or video technology, BHN’s physical outpatient clinics are operating limited hours to continue providing in-person services during the pandemic, according to a BNH press release. Children, youth and family programs continue to accept new clients and remain available to those who need them.
“This innovation in the way we provide therapy and counseling services is groundbreaking and allows us to render services where people are,” said BHN President and CEO Katherine Wilson. “This is particularly critical as a result of the needs that have emerged due to the spread of COVID-19. It allows a counseling avenue for those suffering anxiety and in need of support during this time of crisis affecting individuals and families.”
