I am running in this election for the one-year seat at the Board of Selectmen because I want to see Orange change. We must strengthen our economic pillars, build trust with our citizens, and manage our town’s finances in a transparent and fiscally responsible manner.

As one of five selectmen, I will listen to our residents, work to address the issues that matter to them most, help provide the town with sustainable leadership and pursue policies that:

■Maintain the tax rate at a reasonable rate and on a declining path.

■Support the development of a thriving commercial base and tourism industry.

■Maximize the resources of our community through strong fiscal stewardship.

■Guard our town’s rich history and the character of our community.

My family and I love this vibrant small town we call home. As our family grows and thrives, I want to ensure those Orange families and senior citizens who already live here can stay here and grow with our town.

As a member of the Elementary School Committee of the Town of Orange, I have championed a responsible fiscal policy that would also support the educational needs of our children. This experience will provide me with a unique perspective in the Board of Selectmen. I will utilize that perspective to work alongside Orange’s community leaders and continue to champion our town’s families and senior citizens.

Building upon our town’s successes, and learning from our failures, I will work to address our many challenges and plan for a future in which Orange will be a sustainable, growing town with a responsible leadership that listens to the community.

I look forward to listening and learning from you, our citizens and community leaders. Please contact us at 978-905-0792 or SchwanzForSelectman@gmail.com to further discuss my vision for our town or to support our campaign.
