Pioneer Valley

The Pioneer Valley Juniors volleyball program had eight teams win medals on Sunday in various tournaments around New England. 

The 16’s Coyotes team won gold in Cambridge, going 6-0 in pool play before defeating SMASH 14’s in the semifinals and Latitude 42 in the championship game. 

In Torrington, Conn., the PV 16’s Hybrid team took gold in their tournament. The team went 5-1 in pool play before beating teams from Windsor, Conn., in the semifinals and finals. 

The PV 15’s Musketeers took gold in Worcester, going an unblemished 8-0 on the day at Worcester State University. The Musketeers went 6-0 in pool play before beating Husky 15’s Blaze in the semifinals and Avalanche 15’s in the finals. 

At Elms College, the PV 14 White team won silver, going 3-3 in pool play and winning against the Dragons of Worcester in the semifinals. 

Miscellany

The Valley Storm softball team is hosting a trivia night fundraiser at the Greenfield Elks Lodge on Saturday, March 7 beginning at 7 p.m. 

The event is 21-plus and attendees are able to bring their own food and snacks. There are no outside drinks allowed as there will be a cash bar. 

There will be multiple rounds of trivia in various categories, a raffle table with numerous prizes and a 50/50 raffle.

Teams are ma de up of up to eight people, with a $10 entry fee per person. There is a cash prize for the top team.
