Open Swim at Turners Falls High School Pool. Family Swim, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.; Adult Lap Swim, 7:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday and Friday evenings, Feb. 7, 11, 14, 18, 21, 25, 28; and March 3 and 6. Youth under age 12 must be accompanied by an adult. Season passes available. Non-swimmers must wear a United States Coast Guard certified life jacket. If school is canceled, open swim will also be canceled. Fees can be found on montague.net.
Night Sledding: Saturday, Feb. 15, 4 to 9 p.m. at Unity Park. The hill will be illuminated with light towers, courtesy of the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, and there will be a campfire and refreshments.
Girls Softball: Registration has begun for The Purple Panthers and The Diamond Dusters. The Purple Panthers are part of the Nipper League for girls ages 7 to 9. Fees: Montague residents, $75; non-residents, $80. Kindergarteners are recommended to start with tee ball. This is a coach-pitch program. The Diamond Dusters are members of the Ponytail League, for girls ages 10 to 12. Fees: Montague residents, $80; non-residents, $85. Registration fees for both teams include a uniform. Both teams are members of the Greenfield Girls Softball League. All games are played at Murphy Park.
