Dear Ms. Livingston and Mr. Moses — I’m writing to thank you and your staff for producing and delivering an excellent publication that reflects the progressive values of many readers in our area.

The Saturday, Jan. 4 editorial page is a good example of why I’m now a dedicated reader. Your editorial about the women’s march connected many dots — from the history of the Equal Rights Amendment and its current status to your call for democratic action “in the fight for equal rights . . . (for) people of all genders.”

Thank you for pointing out the “malignant effort” – I would add ‘un-American and reprehensible’ – by Alabama, South Dakota and Louisiana to block the ERA’s passage. Shame on them!

As a fair-minded, local publication, today’s edition included a well-researched My Turn about the history of the fight for universal health care and an outlier opinion piece about President Trump’s impeachment.

The front page highlighted stories of keen interest among readers — the Franklin Community Co-op’s interest in Wilson’s and the new (young) leadership of the City Council.

Thank you for being a shining light for democracy and aclassy, professional publication.
