WESTFIELD — Arthur Fitzpatrick and Aidan Shea combined for a shutout in Greenfield Post 81’s 10-0 win in six innings over Westfield Post 124 at Jachym Field on Friday night.
Fitzpatrick got the win for Greenfield (2-0), giving up four hits in four innings with a strikeout. Shea did not give up a hit in two innings of work. Fitzpatrick threw 59 pitches in the victory.

The offense got rolling early with four runs in the top of the first inning. Sam Connors drew a walk before a single by Conner Bergeron. Ethan Mauthe followed with a bases clearing triple to give Greenfield a 2-0 lead. Luca Siano added an RBI single before another run scored on a wild pitch.
Siano, Hayden Girard and Shea all walked in the top of the fourth before an RBI single by Jackson Campbell. Shea would eventually score on a wild pitch. Bergeron busted the game open with a two-run single to give Greenfield an 8-0 lead.

Ben Caron’s two-run single in the sixth triggered the mercy rule. Greenfield got the necessary three outs in the bottom half of the inning to end the contest.
Bergeron went 3-for-4 with two RBI, while Mauthe went 2-for-2 with two RBI. Greenfield is back in action on Monday at Monson Post 241 at Legion Field. First pitch set for 5:45.
On Wednesday, Greenfield hosts Belchertown at 5:45 p.m. All home games originally scheduled for 7 p.m. are now at 5:45 p.m. due to issues with the lights at Vets Field.

Pioneer Valley Tire 20, Aubuchon Hardware 6 — Cody Castine had three hits including an inside the park home run in the AAA Division playoff victory for Pioneer Valley Tire on June 10. Castine added three innings of work on the mound with six strikeouts.
Zach Bensen and Noah Stoffolono with three hits each, with Connor Bergeron and Parker Smith-LeClair adding a single and a double. Rowen Hickey and Waylon Price both added triples. Braith Brothers led Aubuchon with a single and a triple. Kyan Skutnik-Sheffield, Walker Kingsbury and Owen Little all singled for Aubuchon.
New Fortune 8, Smitty’s Pub 4 — Elijah Lawler had an RBI ground out while Yusef Bensen drove in three with a bases loaded single in the bottom of the 5th inning to lead New Fortune to a victory over Smitty’s Pub in Majors Division playoff action on June 10.
Reed Kelley plated three runs in the third inning for New Fortune with a base hit. Bryce Urkiel and Wyatt Wilkins (double) each had hits for Smitty’s Pub. New Fortune moves on to face Maniatty’s in a best of three championship series starting Tuesday.

Camelot Carpet Cleaners 9, Gilmore & Farrell 0 — Hayden Sadler tossed a complete game, no-hit shutout in the win for the Cleaners on June 11. Hayden Sadler struck out 17 hitters in her outing. Hailey Sadler went 3-for-3 with nine RBI for the Cleaners. Hailey Sadler had a two RBI double, a grand slam and a three-run home run in the victory. Izzy Bills and Clara VanDoren each added a hit. Kamryn Beck struck out 13 hitters for Gilmore & Farrell.

River Valley Raptors 9, West County 8 — The Raptors edged West County in Northfield. Philip Brodeur started the game for the Raptors, allowing six hits and two runs with four strikeouts. Benedict Shivone had the game-winning double for the Raptors in the bottom of the seventh inning. Shivone finished with four RBI, while Fred Burnap and Jackson Puchalski each added two hits in the victory. Burnap and Puchalski each appeared in relief for the Raptors.

Northfield Summer Road Race
Michael Townsely won for the second week in a row covering the 3.1-mile distance in twenty-two minutes, twenty-two seconds. Matt Bassett (24:57), Sorrel Hatch (25:56) and Jenny Wooster (33:08) rounded out the top four. Seventeen people participated.

St. Stan’s 8, Liberty Tax Sharks 5 — Brittany York led the way with four hits in St. Stan’s win over the Sharks. Alex Quezada (two doubles) and Kat Luippold both had three hits. Hayden Patenaude and MacKenzie Salls both added two hits. Robert Badillo had three hits for the Sharks, with Che Christi adding two hits.
