The Greenfield High School hockey team ripped the net for four third-period goals, pulling away for a 6-2 win over Easthampton on Saturday night at Collins-Moylan Arena.
The late-game spurt came after the Wave erased a 2-0 deficit against the Eagles in the Wright Division contest.
“We were down halfway through the second period,” Greenfield coach Adam Bouchard said. “It took us a little bit to get started. Easthampton had a good game plan.”
Six different players scored for the Wave in the balanced comeback win.
“It’s great to see six players score goals,” Bouchard said. “Once we started with a flurry of shots, we found rebounds and were able to finish.”
Aidan Roche, Derek Lenois, Bryan Baumann, Sean O’Sullivan, Shane Prusak and Kyle Barnes all lit the lamp for the Wave.
O’Sullivan, Baumann and Prusak each added two assists with Barnes adding another for Greenfield.
Riley Drew made 20 saves in net.
The Wave (4-1, 3-0 Wright) travels to North Adams on Wednesday to face off with Drury High School at 6 p.m..
Longmeadow 42, Franklin Tech 18 – Kyle Brunelle picked up a win for the Eagles at 138 pounds, pinning Nicholas Culver (3:59) in a team loss to the Lancers.
Ethan Courchesne made quick work of Jack Beliveau with a win by fall at 36 seconds at 195-pounds.
Franklin Tech 36, Montachusett 24 – Josh Brunelle (132) and Kyle Brunelle (138) both had wins by fall for the Eagles in the dual victory.
Brooks Medeiros scored a pin in 32 seconds over Jay LeBlanc at 182 pounds. Will Rosenberg also won for the Eagles at 106 pounds.
Franklin Tech 42, Worcester Tech 14 – Colin Pettis, Josh Brunelle and Medeiros all won by fall in the win over undermanned Worcester Tech.
Essex Tech 41, Franklin Tech 18 – In the loss for the Eagles, Colin Pettis (:53) and Kyle Brunelle (1:03) picked up wins by fall.
Southwick 52, Frontier 30 – In the loss to the Rams, Payton Sladeski (1:03, fall) won at 106 pounds along with Jake Mattson at 152 pounds, also by fall (:27).
Ito McMillan scored a quick pin (:29) at 160-pounds.
Frontier 36, Essex Tech 21 – Sladeski, Tanner Finch (145), Jake Mattson (152), McMillan and KC Mattson (182) all won by fall in the win over Essex Tech.
Jake Mattson pinned Gaspar Galleguillos in 17 seconds.
Mahar 54, Southwick 30 – Issa Gilmore (106), Jon Mahony (113), Jeff Kidwell (120) all won by fall in the Senators’ win over the Rams.
Todd Chiasson scored a win by fall (2:25) over Nick Breen at 160 pounds.
Peter Tattan (170), Gracin Bisceglia (195), and Leighton Soucie also won by fall.
Mahar 72, Montachusett 11 – Issa Gilmore scored another victory in the win for the Senators.
Gilmore pinned Faith Maldonado (3:33).
Brother Henry Gilmore also picked up a win by fall (:57) at 152.
Domanic Cacciolfi (132), Xander Roberts (138), Chiasson, Tattan also won by fall.
Mahar 66, East Longmeadow 18 – The Senators swept the final nine matches in the win over the Spartans.
Roberts, Daniel Kidwell (145), Henry Gilmore, Chiasson and Tattan all won by fall.
Longmeadow 42, Mahar 36 – Tattan picked up the one non-forfeit win for the Senators in the loss to the Lancer. Tattan won by fall over Jack Beliveau in 16 seconds.
Mount Greylock 36, Mohawk 30 – Jaden Moore pinned Aaron Bush at 152 pounds (1:45) for the Warriors in the loss to the Mounties.
Nate Wooldridge also picked up a win by fall (1:19) at 170 pounds.
Suffield 53, Mohawk 18 – The Warriors could not pick up a win outside of forfeits in the loss to Suffield.
