GREENFIELD — As part of a new holiday tradition, Greenfield Business Association and Hawks & Reed are sponsoring the Holiday Spectacular – with events in the city all weekend long.

Last year, the first Holiday Spectacular was created to encompass the events including Jinglefest during the first weekend of December in Greenfield to “kick off the holiday season in the city,” according to Rachel Roberts, coordinator for the Greenfield Business Association.

“We have expanded the activities to include the pop-up holiday market at the Pushkin gallery and turned the Friday event into a weekend-long event under the umbrella of ‘Greenfield Holiday Spectacular’ to encourage people to come downtown for holiday events and shopping — and maybe something good to eat,” said Roberts.

Hawks & Reed Co-Manager Benjamin Goldsher said the reason for the creation of the Holiday Spectacular was the number of activities happening in the city.

“There’s so much going on in Greenfield,” Goldsher said. “We wanted everyone to be able to find all of it and make a weekend out of it.”

He said the mission of the pop-up was to be able to provide local people without a store-front presence to sell their goods like jewelry, paintings, books, clothing and more.

“We have about 30 local vendors — there will be food, libation, music and dance performances,” Goldsher said. “It’s a place where you’ll be able to get all your presents in one place and support local people.”

The Greenfield Business Association also promotes people to explore downtown Greenfield as part of the holiday spectacular.

“Greenfield is the place to come on the first weekend in December,” Roberts said. “We want people to see the city and everything it has to offer. It’s the place to be this weekend.”

Unless otherwise stated, all events are free.
