I sit with Brickett on City Council and I learned much about him and his family in four years. We have not always agreed on the same issues, but we are both respectful of each other while working together to making a better Greenfield.

I learned that 19 years ago, Brickett Allis was a 19-year-old kid freshly back from spring break in Daytona Beach Florida with bleach blonde hair and just out of high school. Most young adults that age have no direction. But because of his love for Greenfield, Brickett ran for office and was elected to the town council for the first time, coincidentally as a write-in candidate.

He is now 38 years old, a father, a business owner, still on the City Council and currently running for mayor. Greenfield has literally watched Brickett mature and flourish over the years. They have also watched him make the tough decisions for Greenfield. Doing the right thing and making difficult choices is not always popular, but, Brickett has placed the needs of the people of the City of Greenfield above all else.

During his tenure on the City Council, Brickett has been an advocate for the taxpayers in our community. He consistently asks the tough and sometimes unpopular questions others shy away from and proposes reasonable cuts to spending where there is evidence that those cuts would not be adverse to our city departments or their dedicated employees.

Brickett will continue to fight for the average citizen as your mayor. This seasoned veteran of the City Council has what it takes to lead us into the future with complete transparency. Please join me on Tuesday, Nov. 5 and write in Brickett Allis, 300 Wells St. and color in the corresponding circle.
