GREENFIELD — Due to the cancellation of the Greenfield Citizens Association mayoral debate at the John Zon Community Center from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, candidates Sheila Gilmour and Brickett Allis are co-sponsoring a public forum open to all three candidates on the same date and at the same time and location.
However, candidate Roxann Wedegartner will not be attending, according to a press release from the Committee to Elect Brickett Allis Mayor.
While the format will be different than the previously scheduled debate, the new format will allow all residents the opportunity to possibly have their questions asked and answered during the forum.
The forum will be moderated by Tammy Thompson, of Sunderland, owner of Mountain View Dance. The forum will be recorded and submitted to air later on Greenfield Community Television.
Questions can be submitted to the moderator prior to the forum via email at tymsun1@yahoo.com or at the door on the evening of the forum, the release states. The moderator will place all questions in a hat and draw them at random. The questions will be vetted by the moderator and one campaign representative from each of the participating campaigns to make sure there are not any wildly inappropriate questions.
Candidates will have up to one minute for an opening and closing statement. They will have up to three minutes to answer each question and up to one minute for a rebuttal.
