I am writing in support of the Town of Warwick’s efforts to continue giving a good education to Warwick’s and neighbor towns’ kids.
Warwick has the best and newest school building in the district. Its students have the best achievement scores in the district. Because of this a lot of students attend it from other towns.
Tremendous community support for the school has resulted in a unique Horace Mann proposal for a new way of doing business as allowed by Massachusetts law and encouraged by various consultants helping the town. This should allow this superior school to continue to function with limited burden to the school district.
However, these deliberations are quite complex. It required significant diligence for the Warwick Committee to get their heads around the concept and develop it. Hopefully, the Regional School Committee members will not vote on the matter until they fully understand it or are willing to accept the word of the folks in Warwick who have developed and are presenting the proposal.
It has been a very long and trying process for the Regional School Committee members. They have labored mightily. I encourage them to continue giving their all to this complex issue.
