GREENFIELD — The Greenfield Recorder will hold its City Council forum Wednesday.

The forum will be broadcast live at 7 p.m. on Greenfield Community Television (GCTV). The Recorder plans to livestream the event on its website, recorder.com.

For the City Council forum, all candidates running in the Nov. 5 general election, including those who are unopposed, have been invited.

The candidates are: Precinct 1, Verne Sund and Edward Jarvis; Precinct 2, Daniel Guin; Precinct 3, Virginia DeSorgher and Taunette Greene; Precinct 4, John Bottomley; Precinct 9, Norman Hirschfeld; At-Large (two seats), Philip Elmer, Christine Forgey, James Henry and Michael Terounzo. Sund and Hirschfeld are the only two incumbents.

Candidates will give introductory and closing statements. They will answer a series of questions asked by Joan Livingston, the Recorder’s editor-in-chief who will be the forum’s moderator.

The candidates will not be given the questions or topics ahead of time.

Prior to the general election, the recorded forums will be aired on GCTV at other times; they will also be available on the station’s website, gctv.org.

The forum will be held at GCTV’s studio. Due to the studio’s size, however, the audience will be limited to the candidates’ invited guests.

A televised forum with a debate-style format is set for Monday, Oct. 7, for the three mayoral candidates: Roxann Wedegartner and Sheila Gilmour, who as the top vote-getters in the preliminary election will have their names on the general election ballot; and Brickett Allis, who is running a write-in campaign after losing in the preliminary election.
