WHATELY — A woman was injured in a single-vehicle rollover accident in Whately Friday afternoon.
According to Whately Fire Chief John Hannum, the elderly woman was driving south along River Road at approximately 2:30 p.m. when her car slid off the road, struck a utility pole and flipped over. She was trapped in her vehicle and injured, though information on the extent of her injuries was not released.
A Whately fire engine responded to the scene where the woman was conscious and alert following the accident, Hannum said.
South County EMS also responded. EMS Director Zachary Smith said the woman was transported to Baystate Medical Center’s trauma center in Springfield.
