Voices From Inside, which offers writing workshops to women in Franklin, Hampshire and Hampden counties, is holding a poetry reading on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at Hope for Holyoke, a peer-led recovery support center at 100 Suffolk St. in Holyoke.
The regional workshops are open to incarcerated and formerly incarcerated women, as well as women recovering from addiction.
“By engaging with the public, Voices From Inside participants share their stories and attempt to diminish the stigma that incarceration and recovery creates, and break down barriers to full acceptance upon re-entry into their communities,” a Voices From Inside press release states. “This event will highlight their creativity, strength, courage and un-ending hopeful spirit, an inspiration to all who attend.”
The poetry reading is supported by the Holyoke Cultural Council.
