Voters tuning into tonight’s mayoral forum will be able to hear what the three candidates for mayor have to say about the city they want to lead.

The candidates — Brickett Allis, Sheila Gilmour and Roxann Wedegartner — will be participating in the forum organized by the Greenfield Recorder and aired live on Greenfield Community Television (GCTV) beginning 7 p.m.

“Our purpose in organizing this forum is to give voters information so they can make informed decisions at the polls,” said Joan Livingston, the Recorder’s editor-in-chief.

Mayor William Martin is not running for re-election.

Voters have two options for live-streaming: a free viewing party being held at The Perch in the Hawks & Reed Performance Center; and the Recorder’s website, recorder.com. The viewing party is provided by Hawks & Reed, LibraryYES, and John and Phelicia Howland.

During the forum, candidates will give introductory and closing statements. They will answer a series of questions posed by Livingston, the forum’s moderator. The candidates will have a certain amount of time to respond to the questions and take turns answering first in each round. The candidates will not be given the questions nor the topics ahead of time.

“Certainly, seven rounds of questions won’t cover every single issue facing the city, but the topics were among the most popular submitted by our readers,” Livingston said.

Prior to the city’s Sept. 10 primary election, the recorded forum will be aired at other times; it will also be available on the station’s website at gctv.org.

Here is the first set of the schedule:
