Orange, Aug. 2

5:51 p.m. — Two-car accident. Believed to be no injuries. Caller advises a pickup truck with a female driver came up behind him and then went around to the left and hit the reporting party. Alison A. King, 31, of East River Street in Orange was arrested for OUI (liquor), leaving the scene of property damage, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, child endangerment while OUI, negligent operation of a motor vehicle and a marked lanes violation.

Greenfield, Aug. 3

4:07 p.m. — Stephen L. Monohon of Turners Falls was arrested for operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and negligent operation, after a caller reported an erratic vehicle.

Greenfield, Aug. 4

8:39 a.m. — Caller reports her female beagle escaped from a dog show at Greenfield Community College. Small, named Lady.

2:59 p.m. — Caller requesting help to dispose of some ammunition that she found while cleaning out a family member’s belongings.

9:04 p.m. — Employee at Applebee’s reports a customer came into the bar highly intoxicated and he was refused service, but he is now wandering in the parking lot between Applebee’s and the Greenfield RMV office. Caller observed the man fall at one point. Reporting party stated the man arrived to the restaurant in a green 2009 Honda Accord. Sean A. Hanley, 57, of Norwood Street in Greenfield was arrested for OUI (liquor), second offense, OUI (drugs), and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license.

Montague, Aug. 4

6:35 a.m. — Male caller reporting his cat is stuck in a tree at a neighbor’s house. Cat was just found there after a two-day search. Reporting party requests advice and/or assistance in retrieving the cat. Message left for animal control officer. On-duty Turners Falls Fire Department captain was advised. Same will send someone to see if they can help. Reporting party was advised of options. An animal control officer will call the reporting party.

9:31 p.m. — Caller requests an officer to Federal Street to press charges against a neighbor that left shrub clippings on their property. Sgt. John Dempsey advised there were five to six branches that were on the property from the neighbor’s shrubs. Dempsey advised he spoke with the neighbor and advised them of the complaint. The neighbor stated the reporting party could throw the branches back over onto their property, but they were not going to go on the property to get them.

Greenfield, Aug. 5

3:55 a.m. — Report of breaking and entering at Dunkin’ Donuts on the Mohawk Trail. Officers to investigate. Caller states he arrived at work to find the register drawer and some other items gone through, and some money taken. Upon finding this, the reporting party called his manager and then 911. Forced entry through the back door. Cash stolen from the register trays and in the office. Photos taken. Report issued. Forwarded to detectives’ bureau for follow-up.

6:42 a.m. — Caller reports an accident with injuries involving a gray 2003 Dodge Ram and a green 1998 Ford Ranger at 501 Route 2 and 24 Factory Hollow Road. Vehicle into and over guardrail. AMR Ambulance on scene. Police assisted with traffic.

6:33 p.m. — Joseph A. Ewig, 37, of Chapman Street in Greenfield was arrested for operating a motor vehicle with a revoked license as a habitual traffic offender, attaching plates to a motor vehicle, forging/misusing an RMV document, possession with intent to distribute a Class C drug (subsequent offense), possession with intent to distribute a Class A drug (subsequent offense), and receiving stolen property less than $1,200.

11:04 a.m. — Caller on Eastern Avenue reports her house was egged.

Montague, Aug. 5

9:28 a.m. — Report of one roommate, who is in the process of moving out, who just threatened her former roommate in the parking lot. A woman on crutches ran at her former roommate threatening to hit her with her crutch. Verbal only; peace restored.

11:19 a.m. — Caller requesting to speak with an officer regarding loud fireworks that a neighbor set off last night. Caller likened the loud noise to that of an explosion.

Orange, Aug. 5

4:31 p.m. — Group of approximately 12 kids on the bandstand at Butterfield Park — some were calling out the “n word.” Now it appears some kids may be looking to start a fight. Two large groups of juveniles were arguing. The groups were advised to stay away from each other and were sent in separate directions.

6:30 p.m. — Caller witnessed a male driver throw a nip bottle out the window. Stated it was a Chevy pickup, extra cab, with a “Punisher” sticker on the back. Unable to locate the vehicle.
