The Orange Community Band will perform the final of its six summer concerts on the bandstand in Butterfield Park on East River Street Friday at 7:30 p.m.
Stephanie Parker will conduct the concert, which is sponsored by Witty’s Funeral Home.
The program will begin with the “National Emblem March,” then will include some or all of the following: “Amparito Roca”; “Spanish March” by Jaime Texidor; “Broadway Showstoppers Overture” arranged by Warren Barker; “Can-Can You Name These Tunes?” arranged by Jerry Williams; “Gee, Officer Krupke,” from “West Side Story” by Bernstein, arranged by Murtha; “Just a Closer Walk with Thee,” adapted by Custer; “Light Cavalry Overture” by von Suppe; “Ritual Fire Dance” arranged by Bocook; “Salute to American Jazz,” arranged by Sammy Nestico; “Second Suite in F for Military Band,” by Holst; “Sinatra in Concert,” arranged by Nowak; “Ticonderoga March” by Leroy Anderson; “A Trumpeter’s Lullaby” by Anderson; “Trumpets, Ole!” by Cofield; “Highlights from West Side Story,” by Bernstein; and “Selections from Wicked,” arranged by Bocook.
The Salvation Army will offer popcorn, coffee, soda, hot dogs, and other goodies at the concession stand, with proceeds going to help area children attend summer camp.
All of the Orange Community Band’s concerts this year have been free, continuing a tradition begun by the Mechanics’s Band in Orange in the 1850s. Orange has one of the oldest community bands in Massachusetts, according to a statement.
