BERNARDSTON — A dunk tank, carnival games and crafts will be among the family-friendly activities held at Pratt Field on Saturday.

The Bernardston Recreation Department is hosting “Family Fun Day” from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event is free.

According to the event’s Facebook page, the day will kick off with a bicycle parade at 11 a.m. The Recreation Department encourages participants to decorate their bikes and wagons. Prizes will be awarded to those with the best decorated bicycles. The parade’s starting location will be across the street from the Bernardston Police Station, and the route will follow the dirt road toward Pratt Field.

Following the bike parade, children can partake in the Home Run Derby at noon. This will be a friendly competition with no prize awarded.

As families stroll around Pratt Field, they can view a number of classic vehicles on display as part of the inaugural car, truck and motorcycle show “Thrills on Wheels.” The showcase will be held from noon to 4 p.m. Awards will be given for the best in show.

The Recreation Department has also organized a number of team games to take place from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The games will include a three-legged race, a potato sack race and a water balloon toss. Additionally, a pizza eating contest will be held at 3:30 p.m., with registration closing at noon.

The Bernardston Kiwanis Club will be on site grilling. Plenty of other snacks will be available, from popcorn to snow cones and maple cotton candy.
