A motor vehicle stop on Route 10 in Bernardston Friday morning led to the arrest of a New Hampshire man on drug and motor vehicle charges, according to State Police.
At about 3:50 a.m., Trooper Michael Leslie observed a 2010 Acura MDX traveling on Route 91 Northbound in Bernardston and determined that the registered owner had a suspended driver’s license, State Police said. He caught up to the vehicle and stopped it on Route 10 near Merrifield Road in Bernardston.
State Police said Trooper Leslie arrested the operator, Nicholas Doolittle, 24, of Winchester, N.H. after determining he had a suspended license. During a search, the trooper located THC products and a large amount of cash on Doolittle’s person. He found additional THC, marijuana products and cash inside the vehicle during an inventory.
Doolittle was transported to the State Police Barracks in Shelburne Falls and booked on the following charges: possession with intent to distribute a Class D substance; unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle; and registration not in possession.
State Police said items seized in this investigation included containers of Dabs (THC), marijuana edibles, marijuana vape oil cartridges, THC packets, marijuana, items consistent with the packaging and sale of narcotics, and more than $16,000 in cash.
Doolittle was held on $5,000 bail pending his arraignment in Greenfield District Court later that day.
