Auditions for Silverthorne Theater Company’s fall shows, “The Revolutionists” and “The Diary of Anne Frank” will be held by appointment only on Friday, April 26, from 7 to 9 p.m., and on Saturday, April 27, from 1 to 4 p.m. Auditions are held at the Pushkin Gallery, 4 Federal St. in Greenfield.
Those who are interested should prepare a one- to two-minute memorized monologue; and bring a current resume and headshot, or send it to silverthornetheater@gmail.com. Performers of all types and ethnicities are encouraged to participate, and all roles are paid.
The shows will be performed in September and October at Hawks & Reed Performing Arts Center in Greenfield.

Musicians
The Montague Community Band is seeking musicians of all ages to join in advance of the summer season.
Rehearsals have started and are held at the First United Methodist Church, 25 Church St. in Greenfield, on Mondays from 7 to 9 p.m. Concerts will be held on Monday evenings in June and July at Peskeomskut Park in Turners Falls.

Performers
The Northampton Arts Council is accepting performer applications for this year’s First Night celebration on Dec. 31.
Since 1985, First Night Northampton has filled the city with a 12-hour, family-friendly festival of the arts culminating in a traditional ball-raising from the roof of the Hotel Northampton. One hundred percent of the proceeds from First Night will benefit local artists and community arts activities.
Complete and submit the application no later than Aug. 31. Proposals are reviewed as they are received, so early applications are recommended. Submit separate applications for each proposal.
Organizers will be contacting everyone with decisions by the end of September. Apply at firstnightnorthampton.org/performances.
Submissions
Slate Roof Press, a Greenfield-based, member-run publishing collaborative, has announced its first poetry broadside contest.
The collaborative is highlighting 15 years of unique bookmaking by selecting two poems to become letterpress broadsides. The first poem will be drawn only from contestants living in Franklin or Hampshire counties. The second poem will be drawn from contestants across the United States.
Both contest winners will receive the $250 Glass Prize and will have 100 copies of their poem printed in a limited letterpress edition. Slate Roof Press will sponsor a reading for the local winner, and will also record readings of both winners to be posted on Facebook and other venues. Winners receive 10 author copies of their broadside.
There is a $10 reading fee. The deadline to submit is June 15. For full details, visit slateroofpress.com.
Vendors
■The Bernardston Kiwanis Club is seeking artists, craftspeople and specialty food purveyors for its two-day Scarecrow in the Park event on Oct. 19 and 20.
The booth fee for the two-day weekend is $45 per 10-by-10-foot space and $70 for a 10-by-20-foot space. It is expected that artists will commit to the whole weekend, however, a limited number of single-day applications will be accepted at the full weekend price.

■Organizers of the annual Gas Engine Show & Flea Market are looking for craftspeople and vendors who are interested in renting a booth at the 43rd annual event, to be held May 24, 25 and 26, at Pratt Field, 257 South St. in Bernardston.
Rental fees are $45 if reserved by May 1 and $50 if reserved after. All interested parties should call Harvey at 413-648-9551.
