Greenfield, April 4

6:04 p.m. – Reporting party reports a woman with long brown hair, 50s, became assaultive with security at Baystate Franklin Medical Center after being denied visitation with a patient. Party restrained by security. No injuries reported. AMR paramedic on scene as well. No female officers in county; Franklin County House of Correction sending female officer for a search. Subject arrested. Ruthann Thurber, age 49, of 55 Hadley Apt. 61 in Sunderland, arrested for trespassing, disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

7:28 p.m. – Caller reports a bear near her fence on MacLellan Lane, in the cemetery next door. Caller reports the bear has already eaten her bird food. Dispatcher advised caller to stop feeding birds for the time being and to keep pets indoors. Police patrolled area; animal not located.

Greenfield, April 5

7:30 a.m. – Hypodermic needle found at 86 Washington St.

Montague, April 4

7:30 a.m. – Reporting party advised that the condemned building in the area of Rod Shop Road has a concrete wall that is coming down, and there are about a half-dozen concrete bricks in the road. Officer Joshua Hoffman advised to contact Department of Public Works. DPW advised they will send someone down as soon as possible. Reporting party called back to say it appears that dog feces was thrown at the building.

3:24 p.m. – Report of a fight in progress on G Street, several parties punching one another. Approximately seven subjects involved, no known weapons. Approximately one minute into the call, the parties began to disperse. One departed in a dark gray Toyota, two standing in front of a Nissan Altima in the driveway, and the rest entered the building and are either still inside on the second or third floor, or have left out the back. Reporting party advised she filmed the incident on her cell phone. Reporting party advised the Altima in the driveway is preventing her from pulling her vehicle into the driveway.
