Sign-ups for the Newt Guilbault Community Baseball League will again be held Saturday from 9:30-11:30 a.m. at the Turners Falls Safety Complex (Police Department).

Leagues offered are a travel team for players ages 6-8, as well as 9-12 year old majors.

All new players need to provide a copy of their birth certificates. Tryouts immediately follow sign-ups, so players need a baseball glove. The registration fee is $75, and $50 for each additional sibling.

For more information, contact league president Jordan Lehtomaki at 413-834-2698.

Coaching clinic at Frontier

A youth baseball coaching clinic hosted by Frontier’s Chris Williams and Pioneer’s Jordan Branson will be held April 14 from noon until 2:30 p.m. at the Frontier Regional School gymnasium in South Deerfield.

The cost of the clinic is $10.

Coach Williams will focus on structuring practices to maximize repetitions so kids improve and perform consistently, keeping it fun, and keeping kids accountable.

Coach Branson will focus on evaluation and improvement of individual hitting, pitching, and fielding – finding strengths but also how to help kids improve technique and attitude.
