Author Talk with Michael Hoberman: 6 p.m. Hoberman, a Buckland resident, will speak about his new book, “A Hundred Acres of America: The Geography of Jewish American Literary History.” Hoberman combines literary history and geography to restore Jewish-American writers to their roles as critical members of the American literary landscape from the 1850s to the present, and to argue that Jewish history, American literary history and the inhabitation of American geography are, and always have been, contiguous entities. Books will be available for purchase.

Mother Goose on the Loose: 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesdays and Fridays. Kay Lyons leads a lap-sit story hour for children ages 3 and younger (with a grown-up). Lyons reads books, leads the group in hand rhymes and uses puppets to teach animal sounds and other concepts. Each session is 45 minutes, with a half-hour of structured activity and about 15 minutes of visiting time.

Writers’ Lunch Workshop: This two-hour writing workshop runs on Fridays from noon to 2 p.m. Joannah Whitney leads the program, which includes writing exercises and discussion as well as an opportunity to share. Participants are encouraged to attend the open writing periods during the week.

Author Talk with J. A. McIntosh: 6 p.m. McIntosh will read from and speak about her current book, “Niagara Fontaine,” and her next, “A. B. Hartwell,” which will be published this year.

First Wednesday Speaker Series: Daphne Bye: 6 p.m. Bye will discuss how we can get beyond physical reactions to anxiety and utilize our body’s highly attuned tracking systems. Her talk will explain how “overwhelm” can throw our nervous systems askew, and she’ll teach participants how to track ourselves mindfully from excessive fatigue, anger and anxiety, toward more vibrant calm.
