Shutdown and taxes

I have a few questions for my fellow taxpayers: Why haven’t our federal tax withholdings been reduced? While the federal government was partially shut down, we did not receiving the level of goods and services our taxes were supporting, so why are we still paying the same tax rate?

Without workers during the shutdown, our national parks were a mess with litter and uncleaned facilities. Why are we still paying the same tax rate? Companies under contract to the federal government were not paid because there was no one to cut them a check. Why are we still paying same tax rate?

Where are our tax dollars going? Should we expect a larger tax return next year because the government isn’t spending our taxes? I’d prefer the media provide some in-depth reporting on this instead of repeating Mr. Trump’s tweets.
