New library can help city be a destination

I am writing in support of going ahead with the funding for a new library.

We have a choice: invest in improving the town and providing reasons for people to come here so that Greenfield grows and prospers or resigning ourselves to slow decay and decline.

Besides building a new library, I propose we continue and enlarge our efforts to bring public services like the library and businesses and other venues that will make Greenfield a destination instead of a cheap place to live while being close to places that are destinations like Amherst, Brattleboro, Northampton, and Shelburne Falls.

In that light I suggest we repurpose the library into a museum that would be of national or at least regional interest.
