The 27th annual David M. Petrin Memorial Alumni Hockey Game will take place on Feb. 16 at Collins-Moylan Arena in Greenfield.
Organizers are looking for alumni of the Greenfield High School hockey team to participate in the game. The first 30 skaters (plus two goalies) will make the roster.
The game is in honor of former Green Wave coach David M. Petrin, who passed away on Sept. 1, 1992 at the age of 42. He served as an assistant coach with the team for several seasons, and even spent one year as the head coach.
The alumni game runs from 4:30 until 6:30 p.m. and will be followed by Greenfield’s home game against Southwick.
All proceeds from the game will go towards the David M. Petrin Memorial Scholarship, which as given more than $35,000 to graduating seniors at GHS since its inception.
Cost to attend the game is $6 for adults and $5 for students. There will also be a raffle on hand during the event, which includes NHL merchandise.
Anyone interested in playing in the game should contact Larry Petrin at 773-9250 and leave their name, contact information and year of graduation.
