“Just Another Mile,” a documentary film by Gloria Matlock about racism, resilience, and perseverance in a small Ohio community will be shown Saturday from 10:15 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. at First Congregational Church, 43 Silver St. Doors open at 9:45. The film is about two historically Black neighborhoods in the small city of Ravenna, Ohio, and offers a lens on race in 20th and 21st century America. To tell this story, filmmaker Gloria Matlock of Greenfield interviewed elders about their lives and the lives of their communities. Free and donations welcome. The Heath Fair garnered eight awards in the 2018 Massachusetts Agricultural Fairs’ Association (MAFA) Media Awards competition, presented during the organization’s annual meeting this month. The fair received three first place awards in the Website, Potpourri and Newspaper Advertising categories; two second place honors in Radio Advertising and Posters; and two third place awards for Premium Books and Brochures — all in the Medium Fairs designation. The fair also won the Judges’ Choice award for its 100th Anniversary video. Fifteen fairs from across Massachusetts participated in the competition which drew 84 entries.
