CHARLEMONT – Jonathan “Jay” Healy is Charlemont’s newest selectman. He won the race by a vote of 420 to 126 over his opponent, Charles Ricko III, in the town’s special election on Tuesday.
In a recent candidate’s debate, Healy said he would work to bring more state aid to the rural town.
The final tally, according to Town Clerk Kathy Reynolds, was 558 ballots cast — with 11 blank and two write-in votes — out of a total of 925 registered voters.
Healy will serve the remainder of Beth Bandy’s term, which ends next spring.
