Bernardston

Bernardston Elementary School will host its annual fall craft fair Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. featuring more than 50 booths with vendors and personal crafters from all over New England. There will be raffles and refreshments. The event raises money for the elementary school for enriching children and teacher request items not covered by the budget.

Bernardston Recreation Cheerleading and Basketball registration will be Monday, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Town Hall, 38 Church St. Forms will be sent home through the school and are also available at the Town Hall and Cushman Library. For more information: rec@townofbernardston.org.

The Bernardston Council on Aging will host a workshop Wednesday Nov. 14 from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. with Attorney Pam Oddy, for an hour-long information session. Oddy will cover legal issues related to aging such as retirement planning, Medicaid, guardianship and estate planning. There will be time for questions and answer session at the end of the presentation. Sponsored by the Mass Bar Association. Supper follows at 5:30 provided by Charlene Manor. American Cancer Society Benefit Chicken and Biscuits Dinner: Saturday at 6 p.m. at Mary Lyon Church. The dinner will feature chicken and gravy with biscuits, mashed potatoes, butternut squash, peas, cabbage salad, homemade breads, apple cake with ice cream sauce, cider and coffee. Dinner will be prepared and served by the Willis Family Relay for Life Team. $12 per person, $6 ages 6 to 12, and under 6 free. Sunderland

Franklin Area Survival Center: The Food Pantry & Thrift Store hosted by staff and volunteers is at 96 Fourth St., 863-9549. The Thrift Store is open Monday to Saturday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. the Food Pantry is open Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The center is closed Federal holidays. The Thrift Shop is open to the general public and helps finance its Food Pantry. In an emergency, such as a fire or flood, the center will supply needed clothing and linens, free, and additional food to help the victims of a disaster.

Caregivers can take a break to de-stress with LifePath’s respite services.
