GREENFIELD — The Greenfield Community College Chorus will open its fall semester concert series on Friday, Oct. 19, with a free preview concert, “Remembering Marilyn.” The performance will be from 12:15 to 12:45 in the music room (S 358) on the main campuse, 1 College Drive.

The chorus is directed by Margery Heins. There will be solos and Henry Gaida will accompany the chorus.

Marilyn Berthelette, who passed away in August, was the accompanist for the GCC Chorus from 2013 to 2018, as well as a singing member. This fall, GCC Chorus will present a wide variety of sacred and secular choral music from 1600 to the present in memory of her.

Heins will talk to the audience about the program and music.

The full performance of “Remembering Marilyn” will be Sunday, Nov. 11, at 3 p.m. in Sloan Theater at GCC. The chorus will be joined by alumni who sang while Berthelette was accompanist. Those interested in participating should contact Heins for rehearsal and schedule information at 413-775-1171 or email her at: heins@gcc.mass.edu
