TURNERS FALLS — As federal agencies tighten restrictions on immigrant status and increase deportations, the Interfaith Council of Franklin County will hold a public meeting to explore how local groups are responding to the needs of the local immigrant community.
Continuing the theme of “Who is my Neighbor,” which was taken up in a forum on homelessness in September, speakers from the Center for New Americans, Montague Catholic Social Ministries and Mount Toby Friends Immigrant Solidarity will report on current efforts to provide support and how local residents may help.
The meeting will be held on Oct. 10 at The Brick House, 24 Third St. It begins with a potluck supper at 6 p.m., with the talk starting around 6:45 p.m.
