Prior to attending the 1st Franklin County Democratic House Primary debate on Aug. 7, I was uncertain who I would vote for. Now, I am all in for Natalie Blais. I am so glad I attended this debate sponsored by the League of Women Voters and the Greenfield Recorder. The newspaper reports give us quotes from each candidate, but there is no description on how the candidates presented themselves.
Our House representative will need to sit in endless committee meetings. Our rep. will argue for us on Beacon Hill. I am voting for Natalie Blais because I believe she will be effective in these circumstances.
Let’s face it. All of the candidates are progressive Democrats. They identify all the same issues. But who will be effective at creating a vibrant picture of western Massachusetts to fellow representatives? I want a representative who will advocate for our communities with enthusiasm rather than negativity. We need to get statewide representatives onboard with supporting our communities. Natalie Blais is a confident speaker and a good listener. I am voting for her because I believe she will be the most effective in advocating for western Massachusetts.
