SOUTH DEERFIELD — International Shugden Awareness Day will be held today, Aug. 25, at Holy Name of Jesus Parish, 15 Thayer St. Tibetan food will be served at 5:30 p.m. At 7 p.m., there will be a Tibetan Concert by the folk group Zoki, accomplished high schoolers from the Pioneer Valley of the Performing Arts, with Mr. Penpa Tsering, a professional flute and guitar player, and Zoe Lemos and Kim Gibbons.

NORTHFIELD — Come to the Shearer Barn on Pine Meadow Road for a special, riverside worship service of the Trinitarian Congregational Church with the Rev. Julie Olmsted. GREENFIELD — The Community Labyrinth Coalition is sponsoring an illustrated talk by labyrinth expert Robert Ferre on Sunday, Sept. 9, at 4 p.m. in the parish hall of the Greenfield Second Congregational Church. Ferre will provide insights into the labyrinth revival that is currently evident around the world after hundreds of years in which labyrinths, popular in antiquity, seemed to be disappearing. Ferre will offer insights into the recent popularity of labyrinth walking as a way to reduce stress and will share stories from his decades of designing and building labyrinths. The talk is free. NORTHFIELD — The Rev. Julie Olmsted, pastor of the Trinitarian Congregational Church, and Christian Education Coordinator Jennifer Piescik will offer a Tuesday series from 5:30 to 7 p.m., starting Sept. 11, titled “Bible Excavation with your community.
“Is there treasure to be found in the bible we don’t know about? Let us dig through the stories together through discussion, drama, music and games. Topics will include vocation, gratitude, justice, stewardship, hope, God, freedom, surprise and prayer. The nondenominational series is for families, teens, singles, married couples, children or any combination. Dinner will be provided at the first meeting. GREENFIELD — Wisdom is a quality that we all would like to have more of, especially now, when we are in such challenging times. Our labyrinth walk on Sunday, Aug. 26, at 4 p.m. at St. James and Andrew Parish Hall will focus on wisdom and its various dimensions versus having knowledge. Reflecting together and then walking the labyrinth may bring us to a deeper understanding and appreciation of this quality. All are welcome! The church is at 8 Church St.
BERNARDSTON — The first formal service of the Congregational Unitarian Society of Bernardston for the fall season is set for Sept. 9. Leading the service will be Dan Tinen with Lynne Walker, music. Coffee hour at 11. “We’ve changed our format so we capture the exuberance of our coffee hour with a rousing hymn before entering into our contemplative thoughts, prayers and sermon with our service leader.”

Sept. 23: Carol Flandreau leads the service with reflections from her important work at Life Path.
